Hi all - I am just outside of Boston MA so the spring, summer, winter up here can be brutal depending on the year. Our new home which we've completely renovated does not have a central AC system. I have gotten a few quotes and have settled between two options. Trane or Carrier...here is the model info Trane option 1: [b]Trane[/b] 4TTX8024A1000B - XL18i - 18 SEER [b]Trane[/b] TAM9A0A24V21DA Trane option 2: [b]Trane[/b] 4TTX6024J1000B - XL16i - 16 SEER [b]Trane[/b] GAM5B0A24M21EA Carrier option: Condenser: Model-24ABC636 - 15 SEER Airhandler: FX4DNF037 I am only cooling my main level which includes 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, and then a wide open kitchen, living room, dining room. Total SF for main level I would say is 1700...total house is 2150. Between the two Trane systems is only a $1600 difference and between the Trane option 2 and Carrier is about 2k which means its about 3500 from the Trane option 1. I have done a little research, but honestly not sure what would be the best option...I do have a high efficiency boiler I put in a year and a half ago and I have 2 Ecobee thermostats. [left]Hi All- I had a GFCI that my condensate pump was plugged into that kept tripping when the blower turns on. I assumed the pump was drawing current erratically, so I swapped that out but it kept tripping, so I swapped out the GFCI... Now the thermostat turns on and stays on, which is good, but when I raise the temp on the icomfort thermostat above current temp, nothing happens. Similarly, when I turn temp below current temp, nothing happens. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?[/left]
