Condenser fan speed
Would a replacement condenser fan with a 25 slower RPM than the original cause the AC unit to stop working in the afternoon when the temperature has gotten above 110. Seems like the compressor has stopped and will start up again later in the evening when the outside temperature has dropped. This seems to have happened only when the fan motor was replaced because a serviceman said it was rusty. For 10 years previous to the replacement, the unit had never stopped working in the afternoon.
Thanks for any input.

In high temperatures like that....... absolutely.
That means the compressor is shutting down on thermal overload (high heat).
That cannot be allowed to continue like that without damaging the compressor.
