I was inside my house and I noticed a sudden increase in fan noise from my AC unit outside. I shut the AC off and went outside to make sure nothing was about to fail. I turned off the power and opened the unit and a piece that appears to be a solenoid valve (?) was dangling by its wires. I don't know if this is the cause of the sound I heard. I took some pictures. Can anyone help me ID the proper name of the part in question? Is this a major issue? WIthout changing anything the AC is working again now, and the loud noise hasn't returned. I took some pics of where I believe the unit should be with a zip tie in place to keep the part there. It looks like maybe there should be a cotter pin on the end? TIA for your help. hey guys I have my main A/C drain pipe clog from time to time the A/C pipe leads outside and I snake it to clear it out...no prob but is there something I can do to it say monthly, like pour something it it to keep it from getting clogged the pipe is PVC and it about 25' long the pipe is about 1/2 in inner diameter and when it backs up it starts dripping into my pantry and creates a mess I was told 1/2 and 1/2 bleach and water in a 1 cup mixture would work wonders but will bleach hurt the PVC?
