Clunk noise after central air cycles off

We live in Arizona and have two central units with all the workings up in the attic. We have noticed that sometime after the rear unit cycles off we hear a single fairly loud clunk sound coming from the attic. It seems to come from the single return in the ceiling. The elapsed time for the clunk varies but always comes at some point between cycles. Could be 5 minutes, could be 10. The front unit doesn’t do this. Both units appear to be cooling fine.

Any idea what this is? Thanks?

I looked at it this morning. It’s not loose and the clunk is much louder than I think a filter would cause. But I put a new one in today anyway to try it.
