Please help with window A/C unit

I really need some help. I have a Frigidaire 25000 btu window unit with a problem. The compressor won't quit running, even when turned off. Only way to stop it is to unplug it. It was purchased in 2010 and the model is FAS256R2A B. Not sure what to replace. The compressor runs in fan mode also and after a while will freeze up. Any suggestions will be appreciated, can't afford a new one and am not sure what part I need. Please advise, thanks

Download service info.............
Link to manual: manualslib/manual/1052216/Frigidaire
Specs: Page 28
Wiring diagram: Page 47

A diagram is shown for the main board. On that board is RY7. That is the relay that powers the compressor. It has become welded together. It can probably be replaced if you can take a closeup picture of it and post it. Otherwise.... the control board needs to be replaced. This is not an easy repair. The A/C needs to be removed and taken apart to get to the board.

Control board - OEM Part - Manufacturer #5304472319

The arrow is pointing to the defective relay.

If you order the board..... you must confirm that it's the correct one using your model and serial number.

Thanks

Appreciate that info, I'll take it out and post a pic. The board is out of stock, so I'll see if I can replace the relay. Thanks again for the info, great forum!👍

You can use the board part number as a search parameter and it will bring up other vendors.
I need to see the side of the relay with the ID on it so I can find you a replacement. It will need to be soldered onto the board. How-to-insertt-pictures
