A/C compressor wire melted off

Hi need some help here. My A/C compressor red wire keeps burning off . Not sure what is it maybe high amp draw? Anyone know what it might be? Thanks for any help!

Yes.... it is a high current connection and if not solid and tight will continue to burn up.
Depending on the type of compressor they offer terminal repair kits.

I got a terminal repair kits and just installed it...hope that will fix the issue. Thanks i will keep you updated if its still burning the wire.

compressor wire melted off gain...what should i been looking for? Is it the capacitor bad or wrong size?

Did you clean the terminals with a wire brush before installing the terminal repair kit?

What kit did you try?

sorry, I opened the cap and it seem the wires are fine. nothing was burn. I thought it burned off again but this time it wasn't the case. Everything is working 100% now thanks!

me again...so today the yellow one burnt off. Also I noticed it tripped off the circuit breaker this time. Please view pictures and let me know if you see anything wrong or not right?

Those terminals are clean and tight ??
They don't look like it in the pictures.

when the red one burnt off ... I just replaced and clean the red wire. I didn't clean the other ones.

They all need to be clean and solid. There should be shiny metal connections.
Any corrosion at all will cause the terminal to run hot and melt.

okay I will clean all 3 with light sand paper and wire them up again with the terminal repair kit. Thanks for the help!

would a bad or wrong size capacitor cause the issue?
