Help with bad compressor in Payne packaged unit

Ok thanks I will post some pictures tomorrow.I have another question if you can help me on this.
I have a mobile home with a 5 ton package unit that the compressor quick and don't work anymore.Right now I can afford to buy a new one and I will like to try to fix if you think that is worth to change the compressor. I know that a compressor can run for about $1000 and up.the unit is a Payne 5 ton the compressor is a Copeland Scroll 2 stage or 2 speed scroll 220 volts R-22 refrigerant .I have seen some compressor new from $ 300.00 to $500.00.My question is do I have to get the exact model or I can get away with a 5 ton Copeland Scroll 2 stage or 2 speed 220 volts R-22 refrigerant the specs are almost the same but the model number is different.
My unit is a Payne Model # PH3ZNA060000AA. The compressor is a Copeland Scroll Model # ZRS52K4-PFV -130.
Can you please let me know if it is wroth it fixing the unit.Thank you

You can’t put a 2 stage compressor in a single stage unit.
Does the compressor even need to be changed? What happened to the old one?

Threads split/combined. Two threads running on the same topic is extremely confusing.

Keep the Payne stuff in here and the Goodman in the other thread.

Help choosing the right compressor

Hello guys I really do need help with this Payne 5 ton package unit.Does anybody knows a little about replacing bad compressor ?
My question is do I need to get exact compressor model or I can get away with finding a compressor pretty closed to the one I have.for example mine is a Copeland Scroll 5 ton (52000 BTU) 2 stage single phase 220 volt R-22 refrigerant. Model ZRS52K4-PFV -130 .They don't make or have this model anymore.I found one Copeland Scroll 5 ton ( 57 000 BTU) 2 stage single phase 220 volts R-22 refrigerant Model ZR57K3-PFV-23.The only thing I need to know if I can replace this one for my bad compressor. Please I need help.Thank you

I can't answer that question. When I need parts like that I let the supplier do the leg work.
