Moist, musty air blowing out when switching between AC and central heat

The AC unit was added to my existing heating system about a year ago. So itís relatively new. I live in an area which is hot in the afternoon and cool at night. Every time I make a switch from cool to hot and vice versa, moist, musty air blows out, and humidity in the house raises about 10%. The wet air usually last about 3 mins, and then everything runs fine. Whatís wrong with my hvac? Please help.

When in cooling mode the coil will be wet with condensation, going to heat causes the warm air to pick up the moisture off the coil till it's dry.

So is there a solution? Will installation of a central dehumidifier or a UV light at the coil help? I feel like I am breathing in mold and itís not healthy. Thanks

It could be that the condensate pan is holding more water than it should be.

You could leave the fan in FAN ON mode on those days and the coil will dry out without the smell.
