Help needed with A/C

Air conditioner outside not turning on at all, reset all breakers, replaced capacitor. When I put the levers at "cool" and "fan" it stays on. When I switch to "auto" it turns off. No noise comes from the outside unit. Really hot inside as I live in Florida. About 98 degrees inside house.

Welcome to the forums.

You're going to need a meter to go on.
Your next step is to carefully check for 240vAC at the input side of the contactor.

Judging by the looks of my contactor it needs to be replaced. But looks can be deceiving, right?

If the contactor is closing but the system isn't responding..... it's probably shot.
If the contactor is not closing..... you may have a refrigerant level issue.... like a leak.... keeping the coil from getting power. That's why a meter is needed or else it's strictly a guessing game.
