Caulk for storm collar on furnace and water heater exhaust on roof?

Hello,

Not sure if this question belongs in HVAC or Plumbing or Roofing.
Please move it if needed.

What caulk do you use on the storm collar of a furnace or water heater pipe to make it water tight? It will be exposed to UV and elements and high heat (not sure how high of temp though).

I would prefer non-silicone caulk in gray or clear.

I called Loctite and they say that their Roof and Flashing caulk could be used. This is black but it can be painted if needed.

I called 3M and they gave me a few suggestions and the common one is 3M FB3000 WT. This is gray but it is silicone based.

One roofing supplier suggested caulk from Chemlink, possibly a silicone based.

What is a good caulk to use, whether it is one of the above or others?

Thank you.

Solar Seal #900 or Geocel 2300... both available in clear. Either would be a good choice.
