FAN ON mode of A/C affecting Compressor??

Hello, Does this make any sense to anyone. As far as I recall The Compressor on/off cycling is effected by the temperature setting. Not wether of not your set at Fan ON or Auto mode. Cause this is what the tech told my wife when we had them check the AC for low performance. She argued with him that this was BS but he insisted.

The unit no longer can get the house below 73 when 68 or 67 used to be no problem, giving the same outside air temp. Or similiar conditions, of course. The unit will sometimes make a strange louder than normal humming sound and click like a bearing is clicking, Then a few minutes later the temp would go up in the house. This is what the tech was supposed to check as the AC is less than a year old.

I realize that Fan on mode my raise humidity as it blows the water that collect on the coils into the house. When the compressor cycles off you get some water on the coils.

The tech was insisting that the FAN On mode was making the outside unit stay on, which is pure nonsense as I have seen it offf many times.

I called and they are sending another "lead Tech" This time

I don't see a question but.... correct....... the FAN ON mode has no bearing on the compressor operation.

What is making noises..... the outside condenser ?
Off the top of my head..... it sounds like your system may be low on refrigerant.
If that's the case you may have a good sized leak.
