Help troubleshooting Carrier AC problem

I have an issue that started several weeks ago. The blower motor on my air handler sometimes stops causing the compressor unit to freeze up. No rhyme or reason to when it cuts out. Sometimes within hours of restarting and sometimes lasts for 4 or 5 days.

Filters and coils are clean.

I checked high voltage to motor and get 251v and low voltage I get 31V (both seem high?).

I pulled the motor and tested short to ground and phase to phase. Both checked out fine.

would a bad control module still work intermittently like it had been? Anything else I should check to diagnose the issue?

motor is a Genteq 1/3 hp 5SME39DXL190

thanks for any help!

Hi, could be a loose connection , does the fan remain running when the Tstat is set to fan ON ? mdl# of unit may be helpful.

Iíll have to get the model number when I get back home.

sometimes the blower will kick on when I set it to ďonĒ with no call for cooling or heat and sometimes it wonít.

I did check all of the wiring in the air handler and didnít find anything loose. I have not pulled the thermostat to check for loose wiring there. Could that be a possibility?

Thanks

Went home at lunch, checked all the Tstat wiring and everything is tight.

model number on air handler is FB4CNF018.

Does the high voltages raise any concerns or, are they in an acceptable range?

Air was still working great while I was there.

Thanks,
