Washable filters

Hi, what are the thoughts on washable filters, my new Trane TEM4A0B30S31SB came with replaceable filters 18X20X1 does it make sense to use washable?

I've been using a washable filter on my heat pump for 20+ yrs. It was stated it would be better for my wife's asthma. There are many who say that it puts too much restriction on the system - I don't know.

If it does for you then yes!

You need to understand that the filters, regardless of what type, dont really do much for air quality! A furnace only runs for what, an hour or two per day so it;s ability to filter air is minimal.

If your really concerned, you need to keep the fan running 24/!
