Safely remove foam tape from 'styrofoam'

I pulled a window unit out of the window for a thorough cleaning. It's covered in mold. I want to replace all the foam tape. It's old but more importantly, the mold!

A lot of it is coming off easily, some not so easily. I want to get it off without tearing up the styrofoam.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much 😊

It's actually amazing your getting it off the styrofoam at all. Usually the glue is pretty good.
If the glue is holding well there really isn't much you can do to unstick it. Peel carefully.

You could try warming up the tape SLOWLY with a hair dryer or heat gun.
The idea would be to heat up the glue without damaging the styrofoam.
