Old wall AC protrudes too far into house
Hi there. My wall AC (unsure of the age- came with the house 10 years ago) protrudes into the house by 8 inches. My question is- is it possible to recess this old unit further into the wall and to the outside? I tried researching, but I couldn’t find anything that matches what I was looking for. I wanted to build a cabinet for this eye sore, but it seems that the cabinet would be very bulky and up high on the wall. It’s very hard to decorate and place furniture around.

Yes, you can move the unit further out. There are no kits or instructions. It's all up to you, your skill and the tools you have available to make it work. The worst part is wrestling with the heavy AC as you'll probably have to remove it from the wall at least once.
