Not Cooling after new thermostat
Hey Guys, I recently bought and installed a digital thermostat to replace the really old one with the lever. I wired it up to the best of my knowledge and now when it is on cool, I get fan only. How do I troubleshoot this?

Here is the info that I have:
5 wires at thermostat
white
yellow
red
black
green
For the old thermostat White was not used.
On the new thermostat, have red to RC/RH
Green to G
Black to W ( this is the only way the heat would work )
Yellow to Y
I can check what the outside unit is when i get home. the inside unit is quite hard to get to. Im on bottom floor and it is in between the floors.

Welcome to the forums.
Ideally we'd need to know how the old stat was wired.
A heat pump is where the outside units runs in the winter to create heat.
If not that then possibly a gas furnace.
Then we need to know what the new stat is as it will need to be programmed if you have a heat pump.
Be careful.... creating shorts can damage your system.
