AC not cooling

Hi all. Earlier this week my ac stopped blowing cold air. I cleared out the drain line and it worked for about a day then stopped cooling again. We had a service call and they said everything was good. At that time we were getting cold air. 24 hours later, back to Luke warm air. The fan runs fine and air blows. At the outside unit itself I hear a buzz every couple of minutes like something is trying to start then it just stops. Ideas of what I should be looking for?

Welcome to the forums.

When the outside unit starts to buzz..... is the fan working ?
It sounds like the condenser fan is failing or has failed and the compressor is cycling on high heat.

It may just be a bad capacitor that starts the fan motor.

The outside fan is spinning fine but the compressor is turning off and back on ?
Could still be a capacitor issue. There is one for the fan and one for the compressor.
Some units use a dual capacitor.

Got it. Fan turns on and runs the whole time until I turn it off from the thermostat.
