We were getting room temp air from the supply vents because the condenser fan was not running. I replaced the capacitor but it did not fix the problem.
I replaced the condenser fan motor today and we are getting cold air again (return 77 degree - supply vents - 56 degree). The loud noise from the compressor is still present
I'm not sure a simple power reset to the AC system will work or do i need a new compressor ? My system is a 2006 three Ton York
I don't really have a budget for a new compressor....
Is the fan motor running the right way?
What kind of noise is this? We’d need a lot more information to diagnose the issue.
A 15 year old R-22 residential system isn’t worth putting a compressor in.
It will cool the house just fine..but the noise... I did not notice the fan motor died until i got the electricity bill for September .. the compressor was probably running without the fan for weeks..

The system wouldn't be cooling very well if the condenser fan wasn't running.
The compressor would be constantly cycling on overload (high heat).
If that is what happened..... the compressor is shot.
[color=#22292d]Hello,
I have a Goodman GMVC95 furnace. This morning I noticed my house was cold and my thermostat has a very dim almost blank display. I figured I just needed to replace the batteries in them. I replace the batteries and set the thermostat to heat. The heat would not come on. I went to look at my furnace and and the led is displaying a code of 88 for a few seconds then it immediately changes to OP for a few seconds. I then then hear a click and the display will go blank for a few seconds before it repeats the seconds. This repeats over and over again. If I jump the red and white wire I get nothing other than than the green heartbeat LED and the display that flashes between 88 and OP. If I jump the Red and the green I will hear a relay click and the blower motor will run for a few seconds and the it appears that the system resets and does this same cycle over and over again. The induction fan never attempts to run or make an noises. Any idea's what the 88 error code is pointing to or how I should go about troubleshooting this further?
Thanks,
