How to trim a fiberglass trunk

I need to trim 2 feet off the end of my fiberglass trunk line and extend 2 lines further down the trunk. Any ideas to cut and mend the line and then extend the 2 lines further down the trunk? This main trunk is located in a basement ceiling.

Mini-split advice

Curious if those of you that have gone this route, have you installed an air handler in each bedroom? My house was built in 1948 and is just 987sf. Since the ancient oil furnace hasn’t been used in years and the chimney collapsed, I’m looking at a mini split system for heating and cooling. Was considering just a 12k btu in the living room and hardwired heaters in the bedrooms and bathroom. There are three bedrooms, master being 12’x14’. Just looking for input as to what you would do in this situation. I plan on doing the install myself regardless if it’s a four area mini split or just one and hardwired wall heaters. Read More
