Need to verify A/C repair quote

Recover all refrigerant from system. Remove existing evaporator coil and install new coil.
Install new liquid line filter drier. No Refrigerant. That needs to be done to our system. Would $3800 a reasonable quote?

Remote estimation is next to impossible. Best practice is three or more local bids so you can compare and ask questions.

Pete, The Coolent was quoted separate for $450.00. As for getting quotes its like pulling teeth to get anyone to come to the house and it is a min of $100 each.

Then the quote should be or the repair amount would be 3800 + 450 = 4250.00

How old is the rest of the system..... like the condenser ?
What is the system tonnage ?
Not sure I'd spend that much on just a coil.
I'd consider that more of a 2500. repair..... with refrigerant.

Pete,
Thank you. The system is 14 years old . One of the parts says 1.5-3 ton blower. Otherwise I can't find the info. We just need the minimum repairs in the coils for right now and I thought 3800 dollar was a little high.

Shop around. You should be able to get a more realistic price.
The tonnage is in the condenser model number.
