Refent Joints
I'm getting ready to purchase a 4 zone mini split system. I've attached my layout. The outdoor unit is set up to have only one line out for gas and liquid. So the wall mounts have branches off the main line. My question is they are saying all I need are 3 refents. I thought I would need 6, 3 for the gas and 3 for the liquid line. Am I incorrect in my thinking?

It;s a Y pipe. it allows you to supply one unit and continue one to the next, One inlet and 2 outlets. so how does either the gas or liquid supply or return with only one pipe My will only have one outlet for gas and liquid and it's a 4 zone system.

Welcome to the forums.
Need a link to system make and model.
The last multi split unit I looked at had a common header/splitter unit.
You're suggesting a tee system which does not sound correct.

Hi, never heard of these, being retired, so I Googled them as I suggest you do , there are some good UT videos out there that explain some do’s and don’ts about the install, but definitely check with your products MFG specs.
