Help diagnosing LG air conditioner problem (possibly electric)?

Hi all - would really appreciate it if anyone would be able to offer some recommendations

I just bought an LG LT1016CER. Itíll run for a couple minutes, but then a humming starts up, which eventually trips the breaker and shuts off the unit. The seller didnít want to deal with the return, so they gave me a refund and told me to throw it out. Itíd be a shame to trash it if there was a simple fix, so I wanted to reach out and see if there was anyone who'd seen this before and could point out some routes to repair

Here's a couple clips of the issue: https://vimeo.com/955204904. The view is cropped out, but - in the first clip - the power strip shuts off by itself after the humming starts

Welcome to the forums.

It's either a damaged compressor or a problem with the start/run capacitor.
You could try replacing the capacitor..... 50+6 mfd @ 270vac
