If the wall is NOT load bearing....

If a wall is NOT load bearing and we want to take 1/2 to most of the wall down can we just measure and cut (making sure that electricic wires arent a factor) or is there anything else we should know? When we get done we want to have an arch as the opening, do we need to take that into consideration when demolishing?
Thank you!

tomandbecca,

First get a professional to look at this before doing anything.

What you may be assuming may be wrong.

Second, removal of a wall that can be moved should be stripped of some drywall before to ensure there is nothing back there.

It may not be only electrical to contend with but possibly a cold/heat duct or even plumbing.

Hope this helps!
