Google sketchup

Hi,

Has anyone used the CAD program Google Sketchup? Can the files be imported to Autocad?

Thanks!

Never used it - I have AutoCAD. According to the Sketchup website, only Sketchup Pro allows export to other CAD programs. The free version does not.

Not sure why you'd want to do that. AutoCAD is immensely better suited for drafting type applications. And sketchup is invaluable as a conceptual 3d visualization tool (although it has plan or const. doc. capabilities). I have sketchup pro and autocad 2008. I've imported cad files to sketchup (site plan contours, floor plans, etc.) but never from sketchup to autocad. Is there a specific reason why you would need to?
