watch fob

I would like to make a watch fob out of a dollar coin but I don't want to drill a hole thru it ,so what is the best way to attach the coin to some sort of jewelry end link, a special glue maybe?

Drilling the coin would be the easiest and most secure. Next on my list of choices would be to braze or solder an attachment ring to the coin depending on what material the coin is.

I have ornaments on my Christmas tree made from coins collected while traveling. Early on I used glue to attach the hanging hooks which worked OK if handled gently but as they break I drill them for hanging. The drilled holes are more attractive and none have failed in spite of years of careless packing at the end of the holidays.

Thats a great idea for Christmas ornaments.

I thought maybe the glue would not be very secure, even a epoxy.

So I thought of drilling a hole to be more secure but i hated to ruin the words on most coins but i guess it isn't such a big deal.

thanks for the reply.

I used a really small drill like 1/16" and the holes are not a problem. Just make sure not to drill through an interesting part of the coin.
