Glue used with "exotic" leather OSTRICH

I have some old boots with tiny tears on side. I want to glue/repair, then dye black (I've used Lincoln dye before, works great). I have never glued hide though. THANKS!!!!!

I'd just go with some super glue to fix the problem. Generally, it will work wonders with just about anything you need to glue and will ensure that the material is going to stay down. Just make sure you don't get it on your fingers. If you don't want to use superglue then I'm sure a leather glue will work just fine.

Super glue is pretty good stuff but won't work on anything porous like leather. It will just get soaked in to the material and be gone.

Most leather glues are like a rubber based adhesive. Based on where they are used they have limited holding power.

Gorilla glue (original brown) will also work on leather. It needs to be handled carefully as it expands and will discolor materials. It also should not be allowed to get on fingers or anything else as it's not easily removed from porous materials.
