Bamboo Adhesive

I have purchased bamboo flooring from Home Depot, I have not picked it up yet..I have found my own installer 1.35 sq.ft. However I am told there is a huge difference in adhesives. I purchased Acrylic/urethane wood adhesive from HD for 62.07 (4 gallon). Floors Direct is where I have been referred to buy the adhesive for twice the price as well as consider buying my bamboo there due to it being a superior quality than I will be receiving from HD. Is this correct? Thank you.

Don't rely on Home Depot advice. Acrylic urethanes are likely to cause cupping problems with any solid bamboo installation.

Do you think it is worth the price difference to buy from Floors Direct (Bamboo and Adhesive?)
Thank you.

Don't use anything but a moisture cure urethane, that comes in a metal bucket.

Home Depot was fixing to cost you a lot of hard earned money. That bamboo would have cupped in a heartbeat using that waterbased junk, they told you to use.

Badly cupped bamboo flooring from Home Depot.

I purchased 600 square foot of Home Ledgen bamboo from Home Depot, and used Roberts 1407 adheasive, their recommendation. The floor badly cupped and I don't know what to do. Wish I would have read the articles in this web site before I laid the floor. Anybody got any suggestions. Thanks uj

Looks like the bamboo vendor messed up and realized this:
instructions >in< the box call out 1407 adhesive... but new stickers were added >on< the boxes to use the 1408 adhesive (which is a moisture cure urethane adhesive). Even the adhesive vendor says NOT to use the 1407).

adhesives for bamboo

I'm planning on gluing 4 X 8 sheets of 1/2 inch bamboo plywood together to make a 1 inch kitchen countertop. Should I use the moisture cure urethane adhesive mentioned above?

The bamboo plywood comes from Lumber Liquidators in Atlanta, GA area and is selling for $50/sheet. They don't have 3/4 inch, so that's why I would glue two 1/2 inch sheets together. Is that even feasible? Thank you.

I would glue the bamboo to a 3/4" exterior glue plywood instead, cheaper and stronger. Urethane adhesive is incredibly strong, it would be perfect for this appllication. Do not get any of it on the face of the material. It is difficult to remove when wet and impossible when dry.
