Wooden Floors over tile?

Hello, we are buying a new home that is coming with ceramic tiles installed throughout. I was wondering if it is possible to install bamboo or laminate flooring over the existing tile, and also if I wish to remove the tile in the future, will it cause any damage to the tiles? Thanks a lot.

If the tile is smooth and level, you should be able to float over the top of it. Keep in mind that the resulting floor will be quite thick and could cause problems at doorways and other transitions. There may not be enough clearance for doors to operate. Undercutting interior doors is possible, but exterior doors will be an issue.

The probability of removing the tile without damage is practically zero. If properly installed, it will only come out in pieces.

A lot of work but if you don't want the tile, I'd remove it first. That said, I'd stick with tile over laminate every day of the week.
