Wood floor developing sudden black area?
My kid and I noticed this recently. We don't think it was ever there. Did a quick google and it said to throw a piece of paper towel with peroxide on it for 8 hours I thought that would be an easy non-intrusive first step.

Have had the house for about 7 years and it was built then too. Real hardwood floor. Have some pets. One has terminal cancer and can't hold pee. It's possible we missed it and let it sit...or maybe this was always here. Doubt it.

Urine contains ammonia and will turn wood black and its usually quite impossible to get that sort of stain out.

It helps if you don't call it a stain. Try a more upbeat term like "patina".

That's right!! All is well now...with me anyways lol. My dog feels great too!
