I am remodeling the basement and am at the stage to put down the flooring. This room will be used for storage only. The present floor is just bare concrete. Oh yea, the basement has been sealed outside and inside. Please help me decide on what type of floor to put down. Thanks!

There is a concrete apron along one side of my house that slopes away from the foundation wall for a distance of about 3 feet. (I suspect that the apron was built to divert water away from the foundation.) A crack (about 1/4" to 1/2" wide) exists where the concrete apron meets the foundation wall and runs the length of the apron. I suspect that rainwater is making its way down the foundation wall and into my basement through the crack. Should I caulk the crack with a silicone based product or remove the concrete apron and slope the underlying ground away from the foundation.
