Making attic into 2 bedrooms.
I have a large attic that i want to make into 2 bedrooms, i will be making the stairs to go up to the rooms. My first question is the ceiling above the living room is 13 x 26 with 2 x 6 used. Will that be strong enough to support a bedroom or can i make some sort of subfloor. One other question on the stairs is there some sort of calculaton on how many steps per feet the stairs will be going up.

Attic conversions
Not all truss systems lend themselves to attic conversions. Before beginning your project check with your local building inspector to determine if your attic can be converted and what codes and restrictions exist. You will also need to know about permits and inspections. Codes tend to vary from area to area.
