attic renovation
We are having our attic turned into a second floor living space, w/ stair case.
My question do we need to have insulation between the first and second floor, if we don't plan to finish it this fall ( we live in the north).
I would like the contractor to install the insulation and remove the old ( blown in) but my husband is against it.
I don't want to ruin the roof.

Insulation between 2 conditioned spaces, does not make a difference. Most people have it installed for sound proofing reasons. I recommend you leave the insulation that is there and use the money elsewhere.
