Attic Insulation
#1

What is the best way to insulate a finished attic roof without removing the existing ceiling? There is access to the roof via crawl spaces on each side of the finished attic area.

Hi MAC:
Crawl space? That's the best way I could think of to get the job done without removing the ceiling.
If there is plenty of moving around room up there, install insulation bats. If not, crawl in and blow the insulation in.
Either way you can do this if it's a doityourself project. Check the local yellow pages for insulation sales places that also rent the blowers.
Fair warning...haha...blowing insulation into your attic with limited crawling space can be fun...haha.
Blowing the insulation in, you will need another helper too. Someone to correctly load the blower <they clog up easily> which will remain outside the house.
<At least this way you can switch jobs.>
Good Luck
