bathroom exhaust fans vent into attic

EEK! I just discovered that both my bathroom exhaust fans are vented into the attic! I'd like to use an elbow and semi-rigid aluminum duct on each to get the air to the outside but don't want to cut a hole in my roof (afraid of making leaks), nor in the walls or soffit thru the vinyl siding. Is it feasible to connect it so the air would go out the ridge vent? If so, how could it be done? Does it need to be completely sealed off at the output end or can it just be connected up onto the vent? Also the blown insulation near the current vented sites is whitish...mold or mildew maybe?

Venting is supposed to go through the roof, and be at least 6" above the ridge of the home. Sorry about that. By the way, e-mail me.
