Question

HI.
I am trying to build a room and 1/2 bathroom in my basement. So far I have moved everything. I know almost what to do. But I need a picture of the base for the room (I have the space measured but I dont know how to start off my long project)If you know how I should start off and what to do please tell me.

Thank you truly,
Victor Rodriguez

Do the framing first. I recommend 2x4 stud walls instead of furring strips. I also prefer steel studs, but its a personal preference.

Lay out the walls so everything is square. Don't rely on the foundation being square - it isn't. Chalk your lines on the floor and double check for square.

Come back when the framing is done.

BTW - is the half bath roughed in? If not, either forget the half bath or get a jack hammer and put in the drains, or plan on a sewage ejector system.
