Continuous Soffit Vents

Continuous Soffit Vents
I'm installing continuous soffit vents. They are the thin Aluminum ones that are about 2-3" wide.
- What's the best way to attach these? Black phosphate drywall screws would look awkward, IMHO. Nails would be hard to pound in. Maybe it is just hard.
- Also, would it be worthwhile to put screen over the inside of the vents to keep out bugs?
Thanks in advance!

Lost: the vents of this kind that we use all have ears or feet on them. How to say they are is hard. Think of a very flat U with a wing going out on the top of both legs each way. What every you are useing to box the over hang in with we cut like 4" strip put it up. slip the vent up and on it so it like hangs there. Then cut what we need from the vent to the wall to fill in the rest of the soffit. The cut in the vent are so small you dont have to put a screen on them. I have seen some Gen. that where cheep say just cut a 6" or 8" screen say tack it up to the 2x say 6" from the facer the whole lenth of the home. then cut the soffit boards so they lap over the screen about 1" on both sides

Thanks Ed.
Yes, I have those ones that are shaped like a winged "U."
If I just hang them like this, they'll be ok without being fastened? They're quite light. Should I maybe caulk the intersection with the wood soffits?

I'm instaling in 50 yr old soffits that are about 8" wide.
Thanks for your advice.
