what is the best way to install a basement wall, block or concrete after it is dug out and is below the old footer for an added room.should you add drain tile at new wall for drainage run under old footer.new wall is one foot from existing footer.

bilco door for basement

i want to put in bilco door in my basement, i have to cut out for door in wall, and dig out for steps. does anyone know of any information i can use to help out. thanks

BASEMENT FLOOR PREPARATION

I AM IN THE PROCESS IN FINISHING MY BASEMENT. EVEN THOUGH IT HAS A FINISHED CONCRETE FLOOR, IT IS NOT WHAT YOU WOULD SAY PERFECTLY SMOOTH. I'M AFRAID IF I LAY TILE THE IMPERFECTIONS WILL SHOW. COULD I LAY AN UNDERLAYMENT DOWN LIKE PARTICLE BOARD, AND IF I DO, SHOULD I LAY PLASTIC DOWN FIRST IN CASE THERE MAY BE SOME MOISTURE IN THE CONCRETE THAT COULD SOAK INTO THE UNDERLAYMENT? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
