stucco on outside brick painted wall

In the front of my house I have ugly painted
bricks which I like to cover with stucco.
What kind of stucco needed, and how to prepare the wall before the stocco goes on?

Two choices:
Sandblast the brick then apply stucco (common brick or brick with high to moderate suction).
Apply expanded metal lath then apply stucco (brick with low suction, some veneer brick, has been coated).
Typical Scratch: 1 portland, 1 plastic, 3 sand.
Typical Brown: 1 portland, 1 plastic, 4 sand.
