I am preparing my basement floor for painting, with one of the concrete paints from a big box, and confused about how to best prep the floor. Is acid etching really necessary? Is there a way to acid etch a floor that I can't simply hose down? There's a "floor primer" that I saw at my big box. Is it helpful to use a primer on a concrete floor prior to painting it with a concrete paint? Any suggestions are helpful!

I have always just washed to floor with bleach, got it good and clean, and painted.
No etching or priming. that is how would do it. Turns out great.
