Dehumidifier recommendations

Just purchased a new (existing) house that has a finished basement. It is a little damp and musty smelling down there so I'm thinking about getting a dehumidifer. What brands might people suggest? I've done a little poking around on the net at some different models and sizes, but I am not sure what I would need either. The basement is probably 700 SF approximatley. Some of the ones I've read about can handle 3,000 SF which would seem like overkill for my needs.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and help!

When you need a dehumidifier, you need a good one. Not one that kinda works, but one that does work. what you purchase is up to you, but personally, I would never get one less then 2500 sq ft. I actually have a 3000 sq one in my 500 sq ft basement. A good dehumidifier, can take a lot of grief out of your life. Good Luck
