I applied drylok to my basement walls and
am wondering if it is nessasary to insulate
before I put the sheetrock on? Also which
way does the sheetrock go on, horizontal or vertical? Thanks.

It is not necessary to insulate but I would to conserve as much energy as possible. Sheetrock goes up horizontal.

Attic Ventilation

I am insulating the ceiling above my garage and have installed ventilation baffles between the rafters. I am going to use blown cellulose insulation. The question I have is how do I keep the insulation from being blown down into the soffit vents? Do I just seal that gap with some unfaced fiberglass insulation? I used plastic baffles from the home improvement store. Will this fiberglass insulation cause any of this air to be "pinched" off? Thanks

Carpet over concrete floor

I am finishing off half my basement. The existing floor is concrete. I plan to put carpet down. I remember reading an article in a magazine on how to prepare the concrete for carpet. I believe the article mentioned using roofing paper. My basement is like most a little damp. Please let me know any proper steps to complete the carpet installation. Thanks, Scott
