Question Concrete Block insulation

Any ideas for insulation filler for the core of concrete block?
I'm repairing the basement walls and discovered that some of the basement concrete blocks (12x16) were not sealed with cement.
My current plan is to stuff some blocking material down into the block coreand then cap the core with "Great Stuff" urea foam.
The cores act like a cold air chimmey and it's only 15 degrees out,
I won't be waiting until it hits -20 or -30.

Thanks

Concrete block insulation

Foam or loose fill insulation in the cores of the blocks is fairly common.
