cellar floor

I am rebuilding my basement family room. The walls are done and I am ready to do the floor. I just read about a product called Delta-FL. The information says to use over cement. My floor has been tiled and the tiles are tight. My question is: can I put this product over the tiles and then carpet? Thanks.

bigflatstom,

Can't really tell you about this product but I would call and inquire about your application. I did look at the site pictures for carpet application but it seems that it will be expensive since you have to use 3/4 T & G over the product then apply pad and carpet.

Let us know what you find out and cost!

Carpet over tile in basement

If you have a tile floor and no moisture problems, then you should be able to proceed with carpet manufacturer's instructions for installation. Most carpet manufacturers have websites with technical and installation instructions. If not, contact the technical department direct.

Re Cellar floor

Thanks for the info. I am going to talk to carpet people and see what they recommend. Sounds like I may not have to go to the expense of using the Delta floor covering. By the way it sells for $170.00 for a 5' X 65' roll.
