Basement flooring

I have a cement basement and I want to put tile on the floor. I already know what type of adhesive I need. The question is my floor isn't perfectly level. I would say its about a 2" difference. It's not a noticable difference. I didn't see this until I was cutting studs. Do I need to level the floor, or can I just put the tile down?

Are you talking about ceramic tile, or vinyl tile, or VCT?

When you say not "level", do you mean that one side is higher than the other, or do you mean that the floor is not flat (i.e., has humps and dips)?

I am talking about vinyl commercial type tyle. As for not level I mean 1 end of the basement has a stud of 7'4" while another side might have a stud of 7'6". Its not a 2 inch difference within a inch of flooring its more spread out. Its not really dips and humps although there might be a few.

If the slope doesn't bother you, there is no need to fix it.
