Should I do this or not???

Aftar I had to clean up the crawl space in the finished basement...as well as I had to remove the insulations off of 1 side of crawl space...with the paper side "pasted" onto the wall!!! (what a weird thing that someone put those up - with the insulation exposing!!!)

Anyway...as after I will finish up vacuuming up the dust, etc. from the crawl space....as I have seen alot of brown thin bars sticking out of the crawl space, so the question is should I hammered them to side (flaten them flat onto the walls) or grind them off???
Which I think grind them off is better than hammered them down which I don't want to see cracks develops somehow!!!

Let me know!! So I can finish up the crawl space......

Thanks,
Rick

If I am not mistaken any insulation that is not covered by a fire barrier (sheet rock?) then the paper side of the sheet rock must be on the underside and the pink (or yellow) less flammable (then paper) insulation facing out.

the bars---are they rebar ends sticking out? If so I would cut/gring them off banging them down may do some damage to the concrete.

Rick, that insulation was installed correctly -- don't "fix" it!! The vapor barrier must be on the warm side of the insulation to prevent condesation inside the wall. If it bothers you to see the fiberglass, install encapsulated insulation.

OK thanks guys........as I will do that by grinding the "rebars" off........and about the insulation, I have already removed them....

Here is a better picture of what the crawl space looked like in your mind....pretend you are looking at the crawl space....on your right side, the wall is "supporting" the wall of the family room/garage (it has no insulation on it) and on your left, the wall is "supporting" the wall of the family room and the sun room (it had the insulation on it which I had removed them, due to falling apart, etc...(the only wall that has the insulation)) the back wall is supporting the fireplace......and the floor of the crawl space is covered with poured concrete.....

So that is the reason why I had to remove the insulation and cleaned up....the sun room had already being built with poured thick concrete underneath...the basement is "finished" with walls, carpet, ceiling, etc...and also heating ventilation....

Thanks,
Rick
