Question Bathroom in Basement not previously roughed in

I would like to add a bathroom (sink, shower stall, and toilet) to a basement not originally roughed in. Is this difficult? I would hire a plumber to have the work done, but am wondering what to expect, and approximately how much to expect to pay.

jrutila,

Alot of factors come into play whether it is difficult or not. Because of so many issues to contend with, get some bids - provide a plan of how you want it laid out. Try and get this located near some existing plumbing, the closer the better.

Bathroom installations will vary in cost but here is Michigan, cost can vary from $500 per hole on up for rough-in and finish and that is if you have plumbing lines within 10 feet of where it is going. This means a main drain line, water lines and then issues of venting. So with what you have now, it may be $1500, $2000, $2500....you need bids from licensed plumbers.

Hope this helps!
