insulation

I would like to know what kind of insulation to use over a semi-
heated basement. My floors are always cold but I dont want to
heat the basement to the upstairs temp. Any suggestions would be helpfull.

I'd just put unfaced fiberglass insulation between the joists, held up by those springy insulation supports.

Thanks for your reply. I should have asked what kind of r-value
you would use in this application. I started using R-25 thats
enclosed in plastic. It seems to be a bit much for the application
but I might be wrong.

There's no such thing as too much. R25 is fine if that's what you want. Encapsulated insulation is okay, but you can save money with unencapsulated.
