Advice on books to finish a basement!
I have tons of questions about my future job of finishing a new home basement but don't know where to begin! I am very handy as a person but have never had the knowledge about finishing a basement correctly.
Does anyone know of any great books that take you step by step through the whole entire process? I need advice on how far to build my stud wall out from the basement wall, what type of studs to use, (metal or wood) what type of insulation, vapor barriers, etc. So as you can see, I need a book to walk me through the whole process rather than bugging everyone on here each step of the way! LOL
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Scott,
First thing is to contact your local building officials for what they require. They should have something for you. An example of what they might have is this (typical requirements);
http://www.co.larimer.co.us/building/basement.htm
http://www.cityofmarion.org/bldg_ins...nt_finish.html
http://www.whitebearlake.org/Buildin...ent%20Info.htm
http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/gov/dpwe.../basements.htm
http://www.ci.hastings.mn.us/Depts/B.../Basements.pdf
http://doityourself.com/basement/
Books;
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...853444-8504733
By the way, you're not bothering any of us with questions, we are all here to help, you can count on us and we're FREE!
Hope the links help!
