water proofing suggestions

I have installed a sump pump. cleaned my gutters and I still have a small amount of seepage in a corner. It was suggested to me that I dig to the footer and apply a waterproof product to the wall. It has been a very wet winter. I can dig it myself, do you have any other prevention methods that I can do once I have that side dug up? FYI ,I have a lot of clay in my yard.

620east,

Did you just install a sump pump? No under cement drain tile or other methods used to direct water to sump pump basket?

Yes. We do have an under the cement drain going to the sump. The contractor put on a pipe with holes in it wit h gravel around it.

620east,

If the drain tile is around the entire perimeter within the basement, what are the current conditions outside that might be contributing to this? Is there a need to improve some issues outside as this seems to be a possible source of problems.

Take a look at this link for some ideas...

Hope this helps, let me know what you think.
