Question Finish basement

I do not know if some one know this question. I am buying a house with unfinish basement, accroding the seller, the basement is dry. This will be my first home, if everything is fine.

I want to know the cost of finish a full basement. I want to :

1. Finish about 1/2 or 2/3
2. I want drop ceiling
3. I want a full bath and also a laundry room
4. flooring will be carpeting and vinal most.
5. I want a french drain
6. I want to enlarge some of those windows

I live in NJ, does anybody knows how much it would be cost? Also, is there any way can save a little?

Thanks and a appreciate this.

You can save a little (I mean really little) by doing the ceiling yourself. There's not much to it.

I'm sure you can find several basement finishing companies that will be happy to come give you an estimate. A lot of the costs is in the hundreds of details (e.g., exactly what kind of faucet will you get for the bathroom sink), so be sure you compare the estimates carefully, and be sure that the details are specified.

The cost will also depend heavily on the number of square feet, and you've given us no clue about that.

It will probably be in the $20,000 to $60,000 range. Possibly less if the basement is small. Have some people come out and look.
